Daniil Peredriy, 27, son-in-law of Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) chief Col. Gen. Aleksandr Chayko, died from injuries in the Aug 1, 2026 bombing at the Balzi Rossi restaurant in central Moscow.
No official Russian statement has named victims.
The blast came from a homemade IED (~1 kg of TNT, packed with ball bearings) brought by an unidentified woman who presented it as a "gift".
A guard stopped her at the entrance, where it detonated.
The death toll rose from an initial 3 to 5, with roughly 19 injured, and it's being investigated as a terrorist act.
Multiple independent and pro-Russian sources say the venue was closed for a private banquet tied to Chayko's circle.
Chayko himself wasn't hurt, and there's no official confirmation he was present or that the gathering was the intended target.
