Rubio, Miliband discuss Europe taking greater role in its own security US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and UK Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband discussed the importance of Europe taking a greater role in its own security during a meeting in Washington on Wednesday, according to the State Department. Miliband was recently appointed to the role by new Prime Minister Andy Burnham, a move which the White House called “deeply concerning” due to disagreements over Miliband’s net-zero commitments while he served as the UK’s energy minister.
