❗️Leaked Elbit documents reveal UAE talks for advanced Israeli drones and weapons ▪️Leaked documents from Israeli arms manufacturer Elbit Systems reveal talks to sell the UAE advanced military equipment, including strategic drones and other weapons systems, between 2021 and 2023. ▪️The documents include price proposals, UAE requests, and internal company communications, though it remains unclear which deals were finalized. The files were reportedly stolen from an Elbit official’s unsecured email account by the Iran-linked hacker group Handala. ▪️Following the 2020 Abraham Accords, Elbit opened an office in the UAE and publicly confirmed at least one $53 million defense deal in 2022. The company also announced a $2.3 billion strategic equipment sale in 2024, which French intelligence reports linked to the UAE. ▪️The leaked files reportedly show Israeli approval for potential sales of SkyStriker loitering munitions and Hermes-900 surveillance drones. ▪️After Ansarallah attacks on Abu Dhabi in early 2022, the UAE allegedly requested six Hermes-900 systems, with a proposed expansion to 15 systems worth around $1.3 billion. ▪️The documents also reportedly show Elbit marketing its newer Hermes-650 drone to the UAE in 2023 before its public unveiling, highlighting capabilities including intelligence gathering and electronic warfare. ▪️Additional leaked material included an Emirati “airborne SIGINT wish list” seeking surveillance aircraft, cyber capabilities, electronic warfare systems and other advanced technologies.
